Straight answers
Is the free version actually usable?
Yes — it's the whole core product. Detection, direct downloads, HLS streams joined into one file, and the quality picker are all free with no caps and no watermarks. Premium exists for the formats that need heavier machinery, not to unlock basics.
Does it work on every site?
No, and we won't pretend otherwise. Sites that encrypt their streams with DRM, or that deliberately hide stream URLs inside their own code, are out of scope. If a page plays standard video or audio, Media Sniffer will almost always see it.
Is my browsing tracked?
No. There is no server, no analytics, and no account system. The extension's only network activity is downloading the file you clicked Save on. The privacy policy is short because there is genuinely nothing to disclose.
Is this legal to use?
Saving media for personal, offline use is fine in most places, but the content itself may be protected by copyright or a site's terms of service. You are responsible for how you use what you download. Media Sniffer does not bypass DRM or other technical protection measures.
How does the Premium license work?
One payment, one license key, delivered by email within a minute of checkout. It activates Premium on every browser where you're signed in with it — there is no per-device counting. If it's not for you, reply to the receipt within 14 days for a full refund.
Which browsers are supported?
Google Chrome today, plus Chromium-based browsers that install from the Chrome Web Store (Edge, Brave, Opera). Firefox support is on the roadmap.
