Terms of use

Last updated: 3 August 2026

These terms govern your use of the Media Sniffer browser extension and this website, both provided by Zenith Strategy Group LLC ("we", "us"). By installing the extension or buying a license, you agree to them.

1. What the software does

Media Sniffer detects audio and video that the site you are viewing has already delivered to your browser, and saves it to your computer. It is a tool you point at content of your choosing. It does not host, index, or supply any media itself.

2. Your responsibility for what you download

You are solely responsible for what you download and what you do with it. Content you can play is not automatically content you are allowed to keep, redistribute, or use commercially. Before saving anything, it is your obligation to ensure you have the right to do so under copyright law and under the terms of the site you obtained it from.

You agree not to use the software:

3. What the software will not do

Media Sniffer does not implement, and will not be modified to implement, any digital rights management system. Streams protected by Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay or sample-level encryption are refused by the software before a download begins, and that refusal applies whether or not you hold a Premium license.

The software does support standard AES-128 transport encryption, where the stream's own playlist names a decryption key that your browser fetches openly using your own credentials. This is ordinary transport security, not access control, and is handled the same way by widely used tools such as VLC and ffmpeg.

4. Your license

A Premium purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

You may not sell, share, publish, or sub-license your key. It is not a product you resell.

The license is one-time and perpetual for the versions covered by it: there is no subscription and no renewal, and future Premium features are included as described at the time of purchase.

5. Delivery

License keys are issued manually and sent by email to the address used at checkout, normally within a few hours. If yours has not arrived, contact us and we will resolve it the same day.

6. Refunds

A full refund is available within 14 days of purchase, for any reason. See the refund policy for how to request one.

7. Free version

The free version of the extension is provided at no charge and may be changed or discontinued at any time. Nothing in these terms obliges us to continue offering it.

8. No warranty

The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will work with every site, that every stream will be downloadable, or that it will be free of defects. Websites change their delivery methods frequently and without notice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the software or these terms is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or any legal consequence of content you chose to download.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Changes are published on this page with a new date, and apply from the date of publication. Material changes will not be applied retroactively to a license you have already bought.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [ SET YOUR STATE OF FORMATION — this placeholder must be replaced before launch ], United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
